- That depends if your friend is after a multi-line system ( $pricey$ )
- based on a telephony card (eg. Dialogic) or a single line one, which
- probably could be implemented using a voice modem.

- that you are after the latter so here goes:

- 1. You need a voice modem
- 2. You will need to leave your computer on all the time, with
- some software controlling your modem.
- 3. If the software bundled with your modem does not need some needs,
- your will need some other software.

- As far as choosing a Voice modem, the main issue is sound quality,
- it is pretty poor on some el-cheapo products so I think that
- trying it out first would be a good thing to do,
- as to the various brands, I have compiled a list of 15 or so
- manufacturers who manke voice modems, and have included links to
- their WWW pages - so that others may quickly go through what
- is available out there.
